Configuring AutoConnect

Global settings

setting up a new group policy object

  • Highlight the new group policy object and select Action→ Edit. The Group Policy Manegement Editor will open (see the screenshot following the next).
  • In the Group Policy Management Editor you will find the AutoConnect configuration under Computer Configuration→ Policies→ Software Settings→ ThinPrint. If the path to the configuration database has not been specified yet, a message to that effect appears.

AutoConnect has no access yet to its configuration database

  • To rectify this, under Administrative Templates→ ThinPrint→ ThinPrint AutoConnect, enable the setting Specify mapping configugration file path (Mapping database).

enabling the setting Specify mapping configugration file path (Mapping database)

  • In the settings, you will find the current path to a local folder. Place the database on a network drive by moving it to a shared folder on the network to which the domain computer (the AutoConnect service) has read access and administrators have write access.
  • Then, under Registry Value Name: Databaseconnectionstring, enter the UNC path to the new storage location Confirm with OK or Apply.
